The Consensus Retailer Health Ratings™ give Boards of Directors, management, investors and other stakeholders a useful benchmarking tool that provides essential context to retailer comp store sales data.
Over-reliance on comparable store sales growth statistics. "Comps" are short-term focused and potentially misleading when viewed out of context as they can be driven by unhealthy margins, inventory levels, advertising spend and consumer credit practices. Comps also say nothing about a retailer's financial leverage, brand strength or ability to manage efficiently the assets on its balance sheet.

We report an overall Retailer Health Rating for each retailer and separately rate them in the four component categories. Retailers are assigned scores and placed in one of five tiers.
Private companies of significance may participate in the RHRs if they provide Consensus with audited financial information and other data as requested on a confidential basis.
